Sheppard named a founding member of Patent and Trademark ChIPs chapter

Professor Christal Sheppard was invited by the United States' Undersecretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property to become a founding member of the United States' Patent and Trademark Office's Chapter of ChIPs. ChIPs helps to empower and advance women in technology, law and policy, particularly intellectual property.

Dr. Sheppard participated virtually in the ChIPs USPTO member launch celebration on December 11. 

She has over two decades of Science and Intellectual Property Law and Policy work experience including as practicing attorney at Foley & Lardner, the United States International Trade Commission, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and internships with Judge Rader at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Executive Office of the President's Office of Science and Technology Policy.
