No matter where you live or work, there are a number of great ways for you to stay connected to Nebraska Law.
Alumni volunteers play a vital role in the success of the law school and your support makes it possible for us to provide diverse and valuable programs and services. Stay connected by serving in one of the many following ways and help bridge the gap between students and alumni.
Help Recruit Nebraska Law Students
The Nebraska Law Admissions Office recruits students from Nebraska and throughout the country. Sharing your past experiences helps prospective students imagine what their experience could entail. If you are outside of Nebraska, we could use your help in connecting with students in your region, whether that's at a recruiting fair, meeting for coffee, or a quick phone conversation.
Volunteer Opportunities
Serve as a Mentor
Year-round mentoring provides students an opportunity to connect with alumni, and helps them bridge the gap between theory and the practice of law.
Speak in a Class
Professors are often looking for alumni to present during a class session. Your real-life experiences can help students connect what they are learning in class to what they will face in practice.
Conduct Mock Interviews
The Career Development Office hosts on-campus interviews twice a year. You can help students prepare for these opportunities by conducting mock interviews and providing feedback.
Serve as a Competition Judge
Students practice their legal skills during the Allen and Grether Moot Court Competitions; Client Counseling Competitions; and trial team competitions. Competition judges listen to oral arguments and provide feedback that prepares students for future practice.
Serve as a Speaker or Panelist During an Event
The College of Law hosts conferences, career exploration events, and other programs throughout the year. As a presenter, you will have the opportunity to connect with law students, fellow alumni, and area professionals.
Serve as a Reunion Class Agent
Each year, we celebrate specific classes during reunion weekend. As a class agent, you will connect with your classmates and encourage participation in events and reunion giving.
