Professor Danielle Jefferis presented as part of the “Claims for Monetary Damages” panel at the Prison Law and Advocates Conference hosted at Georgia State University School of Law. The panel discussed the benefits and challenges of pursuing claims for monetary damages, and strategies around bringing damages cases on behalf of both state and federal prisoners, common legal issues like qualified immunity, and how these cases fit into larger decarceration and reform strategies.
