Professor Brett Stohs was appointed the director of clinical programs on July 1, 2024. Stohs replaces former director Professor Kevin Ruser.
“I am grateful that Brett has agreed to take on the challenge of directing our growing clinical programs,” said Dean Richard Moberly. “He has demonstrated leadership to our college time and again, and I am confident he will continue to do so in this new role.”
Stohs became the Cline Williams Director of the Weibling Entrepreneurship Clinic when he joined the Nebraska Law faculty in 2012, serving as the clinic’s founding director. He has enjoyed great success representing entrepreneurs and startup businesses and is widely known for his excellent teaching in both his clinical course and doctrinal course, Business of Law: Building a Successful Practice.
Stohs is dedicated in his service of the law school and legal community and serves as the coach of Nebraska Law’s renowned client counseling program and as Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition.
Nebraska Law’s clinical programs operate as a unified law firm featuring distinct practice areas. Each clinic is designed to replicate what a new attorney might face in the first few years of practice.
In 2025, Nebraska Law clinical programs will celebrate 50 years of advancing justice in the community.
