Nebraska Law students and alumni from the Space, Cyber, and National Security Law Program were well-represented at the 5th USSPACECOM Legal Conference, held in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Program Director Professor Jack Beard served as a panelist on “Developments in Applying IHL/LOAC to Space Operations,” a panel moderated by Lt. Col. Jonathan Sawmiller (LL.M. '18). Thanks to a generous gift from the Schmid Foundation, five J.D. students were able to attend alongside three current LL.M. students who are serving in the U.S. Air Force and Navy. The conference offered a valuable opportunity for students to connect with leaders in the field and see firsthand how Nebraska alumni are shaping the future of space and national security law.
