Alex Fairchild-Flynn (’25), Keegan Huffman (’25), and Graham Meyer (’26), represented Nebraska Law and the Space, Cyber, and National Security Law program in the national 2025 Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court competition in Washington D.C.
This year’s competition focused on a hypothetical space law dispute involving satellite collisions, rendezvous and proximity operations, and international humanitarian law during times of armed conflict, brought before the International Court of Justice. Participating teams were required to submit formal written arguments for both the Applicant State and the Respondent State on the legal issues of the hypothetical case and argue each side before panels of judges in the North American Rounds.
The team was coached by Lauren Bydalek, Associate Director of the Space, Cyber, and National Security Law Program, with Professor Frans von der Dunk, Harvey & Susan Perlman Alumni and Othmer Professor of Space Law.
