The University of Nebraska College of Law has been named a “Best Value Law School” by preLaw Magazine, a National Jurist publication. Nebraska Law ranked fourth among law schools nationally. The findings for 2019 take into consideration a number of variables, including employment rate, bar passage rate, price of tuition, cost of living, and average student indebtedness upon graduation. Nebraska Law has been named the #1 best value twice in the past five years, and since 2010, is the only Big Ten school to have earned this title.
The law college, which has one of the few prosecution clinics in the country, was also included among the list of top law schools for criminal law.
These rankings acknowledge the high-quality education that our students receive, and because of their relatively low debt upon graduation, they have greater freedom to choose from a wide range of careers, including lower-paying jobs in the public sector. With an average indebtedness of less than $60,000, salary doesn’t have to be the primary factor guiding our graduates’ career decisions if they hope to do public interest work.
