Assistant Professor of Law
Biography
Professor Bass joins the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Law after practicing law at a major firm in Atlanta. There, she specialized in healthcare-industry mergers and acquisitions and healthcare regulatory and compliance challenges. She dedicated significant time to advising clients on and tracking emerging reproductive health law issues following the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Bass holds a J.D. magna cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law with an Honors Certificate in Health Law, and a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Professor Bass’s scholarship sits at the intersection of health policy and corporate health law. She has written extensively on reproductive health law and federal healthcare regulation, including abortion legislation and litigation, FDA guidance, and Medicare compliance.

- Reproductive Health Law Seminar Law 660R (3 cr hr)
This seminar explores the legal landscape governing reproductive health in the United States. Topics include the regulation of pregnancy, contraception, abortion, sterilization, and assisted reproductive technologies. The course will address contemporary debates and the evolving legal responses to significant shifts in reproductive health law. Students will examine the state of the law through a combination of cases, books, law review articles, and statutes. - Business Associations Law 632 (3-4 cr hr)
Introduction to the law of business associations. Examines the relationships among the various participants in business entities and, to a lesser extent, the relationships between business entities and outsiders. - Mergers and Acquisitions Law 623 (2-3 cr hr)
Corporate mergers and acquisitions, including tender offers. The history of corporate acquisitions, their rationales, the legal duties of the officers and directors involved, different ways to structure a corporate acquisition, issues in negotiation and contracting, and securities law issues.
