The Employer In Residence program is designed to provide a variety of opportunities for employers to raise their profile with Nebraska Law students. The goal of is to supplement the Exploring Opportunities program series and introduce Nebraska Law students to specific employers, not just to the variety of practice areas.
An Employer in Residence day can take many forms, depending on the needs and time constraints of the individual employer. An employer can choose one, or a combination of options described below to create their Employer in Residence Day:
Option 1: Lunch
The employer will host a lunch for students in the Hamann Auditorium. The Career Development Office has reserved select Fridays throughout the academic year for use by employers wishing to host an informational lunch. The Employer can choose whether to make the lunch available to all students or target a specific class year. Power Point and web-based presentations can be accommodated as well as most other technology requests.
Option 2: Social Hour
The employer will host a 1½-hour social gathering in the late afternoon/early evening typically from 4:30 to 6:00pm. A select number of Wednesday and Thursday afternoons have been reserved for employers who would like to host a social gathering at the law college beginning October 17. We would be happy to assist you in advertising and handling rsvps regardless of location.]
Option 3: Office Hours and/or Information Table
The employer will be provided office space and/or a centrally located table to facilitate student interaction. Office hours can be for individual scheduled meetings or walk-in traffic. The CDO is happy to coordinate scheduling of student meetings. (Office hours may not be available during peak On-Campus Interview times, but tables will be available year-round).
Regardless of the option(s) chosen, the Career Development Office will assist employers in coordinating and advertising their presence on campus. Electronic billboards, website and social media announcements, as well as placement in the law college weekly newsletter will help generate buzz about an employer’s upcoming visit.
