10:00 am: Plot Your Path
At Nebraska Law, we want you to make the most of your legal education and this session will cover all the programs we have in place to help you do that! Learn about how you can specialize through a Program of Concentrated study or a joint degree program as well as the flexibility you will have as an upper-class student in picking your own classes and not being bogged down by required coursework. It’s not all about the coursework though. At Nebraska Law you will build professional skills both inside and outside of the classroom, get involved in student organizations, develop your professional network, and uncover your Clifton Strengths and learn how to use them!

11:00 am: Clinical Experience
The culminating experience of a legal education can be participation in a clinic. Nebraska Law has five legal clinics: Civil, Criminal, Entrepreneurship, Immigration and Children’s Justice. During this session you will hear from one, or more, of our clinical professors about the importance of clinic participation and get a behind the scenes virtual tour of our clinic facility.

1:00 pm: Career Development
From resume and cover letter drafting to summer placement to your post-graduation employment search, our Career Development Office (CDO) will play an integral part in your time at Nebraska Law. This session will provide information on CDO workshops and counseling opportunities as well as employment statistics and bar passage rates for the Class of 2020. Plus, you will get to hear the success stories of some of our recent alumni!

2:00 pm: What Comes Next
During this session we will provide the nuts and bolts of what you can expect between now and Orientation. Topics covered will include living in Lincoln; payment of deposits; preparing for the fall; purchasing books; orientation dates and details; updating your contact information; upper class scholarship opportunities; and, how federal loans and scholarship funds are administered.

3:00 pm: Student Panel
What is the community at Nebraska Law really like? What do students love and find less appealing about the school? What is a typical day like? During this session, you’ll get answers to these questions, and more, from current Nebraska Law students.
