The University of Nebraska College of Law has received the 2026 Excellence in Mental Health and Well-Being Award from Insight Into Academia magazine. This is the second year Nebraska Law is receiving recognition.

The Excellence in Mental Health and Well-Being Award is a measure of an institution’s individual programs and initiatives that significantly advance core values of student and employee mental health and well-being through programs, initiatives, and other campus priorities deserving of this national recognition.

Institutions receiving this recognition have committed to the integration of mental health initiatives, including accessible services, peer support, emotional resilience, and proactive policy.

Nebraska Law will be featured, along with 37 other recipients, in the September 2026 issue of Insight Into Academia magazine.

“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts to support student well-being,” said Richard Moberly, dean at the College of Law. “We know that success in law school and the legal profession requires more than academic excellence. Through intentional wellness initiatives, we help students build healthy habits and practical strategies for navigating challenges both now and in the future.”

Insight Into Academia magazine selected the University of Nebraska College of Law for their commitment to developing inclusive leaders through the Inclusive Leadership Fellows program and other strengths-based programming; the reflective practice exercises incorporated into clinical programs; comprehensive student and employee wellness programming; and intentional use of the new Wellness Room.

“We know that institutions are not always recognized for their dedication to their mental health and well-being services and the support they provide for their students and employees,” says Lenore Pearlstein, owner and publisher of Insight Into Academia magazine. “We are proud to honor these colleges and universities as role models for other institutions of higher education.”
