Class Standing and Grade Scale

STANDING

Beginning in the spring of 2023, the University of Nebraska College of Law does not make available students' class rank (except to those students in the top 12% of each class.) Instead, we provide tables relating grade averages to approximate position in the class. The tables are re-calculated at the conclusion of the Spring semester each year. See the table below.

LETTER GRADES

A student will receive a grade in each course upon its completion. For grades prior to Fall 2023 grades are indicated by a 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or 0.  These grades will be reflected in the official University records using the following conversion table:

For those students beginning in the Fall 2023 and onward, grades are indicated by a 4.33, 4.00, 3.67, 3.33, 3.00, 2.67, 2.33, 2.00, 1.67, 1.33, 1.00, 0.67, or 0.  These grades will be reflected in the official University records using the following conversion table:
