Student Experience

Building an Inclusive and Connected Community

Students walking up stairs and talking

We are more than just a law school. We’re a connection point – the community that ties you to the people, places and organizations that will help you develop as a professional and a leader. Students, professors and staff share a common respect for each other and for the practice of law.

Inclusive Leadership Program

Our Inclusive Leadership Program encourages students to grow as leaders. Students learn the leadership skills and practices that they will use as they advance justice, solve problems and serve others with integrity.

Health and Wellness Resources

The welfare of our students is one of our top priorities. Nebraska Law, and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, provide a variety of resources for physical and mental health, personal support and career enrichment.

Health and Wellness Resources

“From the beginning of law school until now there has never been a problem that I had to face on my own. There is always someone willing to offer help and solutions to the challenges I face.”

Melissa A.

Student Organizations and Competitions

Students build community and strengthen their leadership skills by participating in student organizations and competitions. Organizations help students connect with others who share common interests, while participating in a competition allows students to put their legal skills to work in practice simulations that mirror real-life client problems.

Mentoring Programs

We care about the academic and personal success of our students, which is why we value the connections students make with mentors. We’ll introduce you to a practicing attorney who will serve as a year-round mentor and provide a faculty advisor who will provide guidance throughout your time at Nebraska Law. Our Delta Theta Pi student organization also administers a peer-to-peer mentor program.

“I was matched with an alum that works in an area I’m interested in. His guidance was, and still is, invaluable.”
