Nebraska Law Mentee Application Form

Are you interested in having an attorney or student mentor for the 2023-2024 academic year? Below you'll find descriptions of the Attorney/Student Mentor Program and the Delta Theta Phi Big/Little Mentor Program. If you're interested in participating in one or both programs, complete the form below by August 1st.

Attorney/Student Mentor Program
Nebraska Law’s Attorney/Student Mentor Program was developed to offer law students the opportunity to have an attorney mentor. Through the Program, students are paired with an attorney, bridging the gap between the theory and practice of law. Your mentor will be a sounding board for you as you navigate your first year of law school and will help identify potential career paths. This program will also help you begin to establish your professional network.

Upper-class/1L Mentor Program
To ease the transition into your law school journey, student organization Delta Theta Phi pairs first-year students with upper-class students through the Big/Little Mentor Program. This is a fun and beneficial way for first-year students to meet upper-class students. Upper-class students will provide advice on classes, student organizations, life in Lincoln, and law school in general.

To participate in either mentor program, you must:

  1. Be a law student at the University of Nebraska College of Law;
  2. Be willing to commit the necessary time e-meet or otherwise communicate with your mentor once per month;
  3. Complete and submit the application form below; and
  4. Agree to and electronically sign the “Statement of Participation” at the end of the “Student Application.”

Our goal is to match every applicant with a mentor. After you are matched, the expectation is that you communicate with them at least once per month at mutually agreed upon dates and times.
