Biography

Melissa McCoy is the Director of Enrollment Strategy and Communications for Nebraska Law’s admissions office. She creates communication campaigns designed to assist prospective students with the application process and to provide them with information about the College of Law. She writes print and digital content for the College of Law, including assisting with and contributing to The Transcript. Dr. McCoy actively recruits law students and has a special interest in diversity recruitment. She works closely with the Underserved Law Opportunities Program (ULOP) and served on the Executive Vice Chancellor’s workgroup as part of the preparation for the work of the N150 Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Dr. McCoy has also been an active participant on the Our Nebraska Committee since 2016 and served on the University’s Staff Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council. She is the advisor for UNL’s Association of Future Black Lawyers.

 

Prior to joining Nebraska Law as Assistant Director of Admissions in 2015, Dr. McCoy spent nearly twelve years overseeing marketing and recruitment for adult and graduate programs at Nebraska Wesleyan University where she also taught courses in composition, communication, and literature. She is a past president and former board member of NOVA Business and Professional Women and has served on the financial development committee of the YWCA of Lincoln.
