In May 2021, work began on the $6 million renovation of the Marvin and Virginia Schmid Law Library. The project will provide new and rejuvenated spaces for our community.
On the main level, outdoor access to the courtyard is being added, stacks are being moved to allow for more open and collaborative study areas, one button technology suites for podcasting and digital learning will be constructed, library faculty offices are being moved to bring librarians closer to students and patrons, and a new wellness space is being added for our students.
On the lower level, we are incredibly excited for a community area to host faculty talks, debates, and other discussions. We're also adding two new classrooms, additional study space, and connecting the new basement area to the existing student lounge.
Anticipated Completion: Fall 2022
Current Construction Status (6/11/21):

The southeast stair case will be closed beginning Monday, June 14. There will be no study space on the main floor or the basement. Seating is only available on the second floor.
