Podcasting
Podcasting is now available to College of Law Faculty, Staff, and Organizations. Audio only or Audio and Video is possible.
Digital Video Podcasting Instructions
The Canon GL2 Digital Video Camera records to the digital law media server for online automated podcast creation. Sound is recorded through the microphone on top of the video camera or through the lapel mic.
1. Plug the network cable into the white box (mac mini).
2. Setup Canon Video Camera.
- Plug power strip into power outlet
- Fold out LCD panel
- Slide power switch on top to the ‘Camera’ position
- Adjust camera for proper subject viewing
3. Verify LED on white box is lit (mac mini).
4. Log into podcast website. https://digitallaw.unl.edu:8143. You may get an accept certificate alert, agree to it.
5. If it is not on the record tab, click on record.
6. Select the TrialAd camera and workflow for your group.
7. Type in a title and description.
8. Click on the record button (circle with red dot).
9. The window will switch to a counter at which point it is recording.
10. At anytime during the recording you may pause and start again, this will not create a new podcast.
11. When you are done recording, click on the stop button. At this point the video will be uploaded to the server, encoded into a web compatible format and placed on the website.
12. Log into your group (listed below) to see the videos listed under Blog at the top.

This is now an officially functioning environment.
Known Limitations:
Implementation of user accounts is awaiting fixes from server engineers, timeframe unknown. For now, groups are sharing the same account. If you need this account info, see a fellow student in your class or Bob (Director of IT).
