Following the program’s annual conference on space law in Washington D.C. the Space, Cyber, and Telecommunication’s Law program hosted "A Celebration of Women in Space Law Reception" at the National Press Club. Students from the Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law student group assembled table decor featuring photos and biographies of notable women in space law. This is the second event targeted at women in space law in the past two years for the program, as Executive Director Elsbeth Magilton continues to focus on growing diversity in the field. “Like many disciplines within technology and science sectors there is a lack of women in leadership roles. As an academic institution we have both the opportunity and responsibility to create supportive pipelines for women and minorities into these fields, and support our alumni as they climb the ranks,” Magilton said. The event not only highlighted the many women speaking at the conference, but also highlighted the historical impact of women in space law.
