Melissa McCoy Assistant Dean for Admissions and Enrollment Operations

Biography

Melissa McCoy is Assistant Dean for Admissions and Enrollment Operations. She has been with the College of Law since 2015 and moved into the Assistant Dean role in 2022, managing the Admissions Office and overseeing recruiting, communications, and enrollment activities. Previously, she was the Director of Enrollment Strategy and Communications. In that role, she created communication campaigns designed to assist prospective students with the application process and to provide them with information about the College of Law. Dr. McCoy has a special interest in diversity recruitment. She works closely with the Underserved Law Opportunities Program (ULOP) and served on the Executive Vice Chancellor’s workgroup as part of the preparation for the work of the N150 Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Dr. McCoy is a member of the College of Law's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and served on the University’s Staff Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council. She is the advisor for UNL’s Association of Future Black Lawyers.

Prior to joining Nebraska Law, Dr. McCoy spent nearly twelve years overseeing marketing and recruitment for adult and graduate programs and also taught courses in composition, communication, and literature at Nebraska Wesleyan University. She is a past president and former board member of NOVA Business and Professional Women and has served on the financial development committee of the YWCA of Lincoln.
