Welcome
Welcome to the University of Nebraska College of Law website. Whether you are a prospective student, an alumnus, or are simply curious about the College, this site has been created with you in mind. You will find information about admission to the law school; our faculty and their research; our library, Nebraska's largest law library; our top-notch career services office; and a host of other matters.
Founded in 1891, the College has cultivated a long, proud history, and a bright future. Roscoe Pound, the most distinguished legal academic of the 20th century, was one of the College's early deans, and the tradition of leadership, excellence, and engagement has continued to this day. The faculty currently includes two of the world's most important intellectual property scholars, a leading scholar on international human rights, very influential national actors on sports law issues, and some of the leading interdisciplinary scholars in the country. The Law College has a brilliant new facility (just completed in 2003), but we think of the College not as a building or place, but as a community of bright, engaged, and committed individuals.
We are just the right size for a law school, large enough to provide a curriculum to satisfy virtually every taste, but small enough to be a real community. We know each other here. Faculty members know students by name; students know each other well; I know most students by sight, if not by name. If you would prefer to be a number, this is definitely not the place for you. I invite you to explore the College through this website or, even better, to visit us in person. You will discover that the College is an inviting and exciting community. I welcome you to come see for yourself that "There is No Place Like Nebraska."
