Connie Collingsworth, general counsel and secretary of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in residence at the Law College November 5th and 6th.
Connie Collingsworth will deliver a talk about her legal career at noon on November 5th in the Law College. She is a 1982 graduate of the Law College and received a Master of Laws degree in international business legal studies from the University of Exeter, England.
Collingsworth will be returning to UNL from Seattle, Washington to be honored during Masters Week 2009. Masters Week provides an opportunity for outstanding alumni to share their career experiences and to serve as role models for students. Collingsworth leads the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s legal team. Prior to joining the foundation, she was a partner at the law firm Preston Gates & Ellis LLP and was co-chair of Social Venture Partners, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization that focuses on social and environmental issues. She was co-founder and has served as president and board member for the French American School of Puget Sound. She is currently an advisory board member of Attenex Corporation and the National Center on Philanthropy and the Law. She is also a member of the International Program Advisory Committee for Independent Sector.
