Arts and Entertainment
Lincoln is the capital of Nebraska with a population of about 250,000. It is located in the eastern part of Nebraska and is the home of the main campus of the University of Nebraska. It offers the advantages of a big city with the safety, convenience and friendliness of a smaller community. Most places in Lincoln can be reached within a 10-20 minute drive.

Law students have easy access to the state and federal courts and numerous government offices in downtown Lincoln, just 10 minutes from the College. The Nebraska Supreme Court and Nebraska Court of Appeals hear appeals in the state capitol building and the district and county courts conduct trials in the County-City Building. The federal building houses the U.S. District Court and the Bankruptcy Court.

The arts and entertainment abound in Lincoln. The Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden contain an excellent collection of 20th century art and sculpture and the Garden is home to the popular Jazz in June concerts. The Lied Center for the Performing Arts is host to regional, national and international artists and showcases Broadway productions, symphonies, dance, theater and pop entertainers. The Lincoln Symphony, Lincoln Community Playhouse, Lincoln Jazz Society, Lincoln City Ballet and Nebraska Chamber Orchestra all provide entertainment opportunities. Blues lovers will not want to miss the outstanding performances at The Zoo Bar.

Downtown
The historic Haymarket District, with its numerous shops and restaurants, is the site of a weekly Farmer's Market from May to October. Children will enjoy the Lincoln Children's Museum and Children's Zoo.

Outdoor Activities
For the outdoor lovers, Lincoln is known for its city parks, golf courses, bike trails and swimming pools. Sports fans will enjoy the games of the Nebraska football team, which has won five national championships since the 1970s. There are many other competitive sports events in Lincoln, such as University of Nebraska basketball, volleyball (1995 National Champions), baseball, and gymnastics, and the hockey team, the Lincoln Stars. For football lovers, Lincoln offers the Lincoln Lightning indoor football team. And, baseball enthusiasts can support Cornhusker baseball and softball as well as a Northern League Professional baseball team which play in Lincoln's new $32.1 million ballpark.
