The Current Situation in Church and State

Speaker: Steven Carter, William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law at Yale University

DATE: Friday, November 1, 2013
TIME: 12:00 - 1:00pm
College of Law, Auditorium
Approved for 1 CLE credit hour

DESCRIPTION:

We face a moment of unusual confusion in our efforts to patrol the wall of separation between church and state. We are increasingly forgetting that the wall, in its origins, was intended to protect the church from the state, not the other way around. Carter's talk will review recent developments, and also explain how a greater attention to both history and game theory will help us reach a richer understanding of how and why to protect the wall of separation.

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking is available in the parking lot South of the College of Law for $6.00 at the registration table. EXACT CHANGE IS REQUIRED. The permit will need to be hung from the rearview mirror of your vehicle, or you risk getting a ticket.
