The Changing Face of Constitutional Litigation on Behalf of Children
Marsha Levick, Deputy Director & Chief Council, Juvenile Law Center
DATE: Thursday, February 28, 2013
TIME: 12:00 - 1:00pm
University of Nebraska College of Law Auditorium
Approved for 1.0 CLE credit hour
DESCRIPTION:
The lecture focuses on the challenges of civil rights and constitutional litigation in a conservative judicial climate. Levick has the benefit of a long lens. She began her career in the 1970’s, when optimism for law as a tool for social change was still running fairly high. She has been through the depths of despair and the heights of exhilaration since then. Along the way, Levick has had to modify and adjust her litigation tactics and strategy as the earth shifted below.
