Pro Bono Law Clerks

A Collaborative effort of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyer Project and the Career Services Office of the University of Nebraska College of Law. The Volunteer Lawyer Project/Pro Bono Law Clerk Program was inaugurated in 2006. We are very excited about the program and the potential benefits to all involved if the program proves to be a success.

For the volunteer attorneys the availability of volunteer law clerks should lighten their load and perhaps encourage other attorneys to follow suit.

For the volunteer clerks, they will have the opportunity to work with practicing attorneys one-on-one. They also will get hands on experience working with real client problems. Hopefully, they will be assigned to a case in an area of law they are interested in pursuing after graduation. Because the students volunteer to clerk for one case at a time, the number of hours involved should not interfere with their academic work.

Below is a link to the VLP – Pro Bono Registration Form. By filling it out you are indicating an interest in participation. Your information will be forwarded to the Nebraska State Bar Association. NSBA Staff members will attempt to match your interests and skills with a specific case and a volunteer attorney.
