Throughout the year, students are offered numerous workshops, panel discussions, and informational sessions. These presentations utilize practicing attorneys, alumni and career services staff to target specific career interests and needs, and assist students in finding their niche in the legal community. Annual Programs
Alternative Legal Careers Week
A week of lunch-hour panels including law school graduates now working in banking, insurance, politics, business, government, higher education, non-profits, etc. The panelists discuss their career paths and the pros and cons of working in their non-traditional legal positions.
Spring Break Shadow Program
Students have the opportunity to shadow professionals for a half or full day during Spring Break.
Interview Basics/Mock Interviews
Interview information sessions and a session of mock interviews are open to students before on-campus interviews begin in the Spring and Fall. The information sessions remind students of proper interview etiquette and interviewing tips and tricks. The mock interviews are performed by our City Campus Career Services counterparts. They are a nice way to refresh your interviewing techniques while getting professional advice on ways to improve.
Government Jobs
Federal government honors and internships have special deadlines and application processes. The CSO hosts an information session for students to give them the basics of these processes and prepare them for special government requirements.
"I Know What You Did Last Summer" student panel
This informtion session features student panelists who discuss their summer experiences, from working at large firms to studying abroad.
Judicial Clerkships information sessions
Obtaining a judicial clerkships can be complicated. These information sessions are designed to get students excited about the possibilities and inform them of the nuts and bolts of the application process.
