A Message From The Dean

Nebraska Campaign
Dear Alumni and Friends:

Your private financial support is critical to the Law College. Private gifts have literally built the buildings in which we teach and study. They have endowed faculty professorships and chairs, which help us attract and keep our finest teachers and scholars. Private financial support provides scholarship funds that help us attract and support the best students and help us fund scores of special programs, lectures, competitions and awards, all of which contribute to the culture of excellence at the University of Nebraska College of Law.

For these reasons, I hope you will begin, or continue, your contributions to the Law College. One way to do this is through the Law College Clubs, which provide support critical to the day-to-day operation of the College. These funds permit us to assist academic programs that need unexpected support, and they allow us to take advantage of unexpected opportunities to enrich the Law College community with speakers and events. They also support alumni reunions and student events, and provide funds to promote the Law College across the country through various means of communication.

My goal is that everyone who graduates from the College of Law, as well as our supportive friends, will make a contribution. I greatly appreciate membership in the giving clubs, which bring with them special recognition. These levels are listed on the left panel. I recognize, however, that everyone's circumstance is different and not everyone can give large donations. Whatever you contribute, we will appreciate it greatly, and you will be recognized in our annual report. We all have the same goal in mind - to continue to grow the success of the College of Law, and of our future graduates.

Thank you for considering a donation, and please contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Fundraising Initiatives

Auditorium Renovation and Classroom Addition

The Duane W. Acklie Classroom Wing which is on the west side of McCollum Hall was completed during Spring 2009. The two classrooms within the wing each seat approximately 85 students and are equipped with all the latest teaching technology. Renovation of the Deryl F. Hamann Auditorium was completed during the Winter of 2009. These construction projects, like almost all of the improvements done on our facilities over the past few years, has been made possible by the enormous generosity of our alumni.
