We welcome gifts in support of the needs of the College of Law. Named gifts may bear the donor's name or may be named to honor a spouse or other family member, a colleague, a favorite professor, a firm or other person(s) or organization(s) deserving recognition.
A Message from our Dean
It would be hard to overstate how important your private financial support is to the Law College. Private gifts have literally built the buildings in which we teach and study. Private gifts endow faculty professorships and chairs, which help us attract and keep our finest teachers. Private gifts have endowed dozens of scholarship funds here at the College, which pay out thousands of dollars annually to deserving law students. Private gifts also help us fund scores of special programs, lectures, competitions and awards, all of which contribute to the academic environment here at the University of Nebraska College of Law.
But, for all the good that is accomplished by these larger gifts, there is no substitute for a strong annual membership in the Dean's Club. The Dean's fund is critical to the day-to-day operation of the College. It permits the College to assist academic programs that have temporarily run short of cash. It helps to pay for alumni reunions and student events. It represents and promotes the Law College all across the country. And, it publicizes the accomplishments of our faculty, students, and graduates, to name just a few.
If you are an alumnus of the College, here is an additional incentive to join: having a high percentage of you identified as annual donors is one of the measures by which national publications, such as U.S. News and World Report, rank American law schools. So in a very real sense, your alumni membership in the Dean's Club is an investment that will work to increase the value of the degree you now hold.
Finally, we believe it is important to recognize everyone who supports us financially. That's why we mail out an Annual Report every fall to all 6,000+ of our alumni and friends. This report lists all donors for the prior fiscal year by Dean's Club Level, class year, and geographic location. We also maintain this information on our web site. We do this because we want you to be as proud of each other as we are of you. Our attractive Dean's Club desk weights allow you to track your years of memberships, and proudly display your continuing association with College.
The three Dean's Club Levels are listed below. While we hope you can join one of the Dean's Club Levels at this time, please remember that a gift of any amount will get your name in our annual report and increase our percentage of alumni who are annual supporters.
Thanks you for considering a donation.
